NEWSFLASH - 5 SEPTEMBER 2009 - BOB'S 81st BIRTHDAY

On the 5th of September we celebrated Bob’s 81st birthday. We had not been on a breakfast run for a while and thought it would be an ideal opportunity to take Bob and Laurette to Suikerbossie in Hout Bay on Sunday 6th September for breakfast. Suikerbossie is close to Bobs home. Our first breakfast/braai at Killarney for Bob’s birthday was nine years ago. At that breakfast we had Bob’s Flamingo, his Dart, Sidney’s Dart and Gert le Roux’s Levy Dart. Since then the scene has changed dramatically. Four cars at an event has certainly changed. Four Darts, 6 Flamingo’s, two Street rods, one Borgward and one Morgan arrived that morning at Suikerbossie. Not bad for a cold windy Cape Town day. 44 people had breakfast. It was a good morning and we are sure Bob enjoyed his day.
