NEWSFLASH - GEORGE 2010

22 February 2010

On the 12th February 2010 we once again went to the George Motor Show. Peanuts and myself with the Flamingo, Mias in his Dart and Andre towing Peanuts Dart. The day did not start very good as my indicators and gauges were not working so I first had to go to Louis de Jager to fix that problem. Clarry left from Somerset West towing his Dart as he has not been well and believed this was the way to go. Deon towed his Dart and Willie drove his Flamingo to George. Well done Willie, glad you did not run out of petrol. JR together with his dad Gawie and their friend towed the Dart and Dart trailer to George. Hein towed the Flamingo because he is saving his car for the concourse at L’Ormarins on the 27/28 March. Ron & Lyn drove all the way from East London to come to the show. Peter Pretorius brought his Hayden Dart from Plettenberg Bay and Reg Farrow drove up from Cape Town with his Hayden. Last but not least let us not forget about Piet driving Colin’s yellow Flamingo. He got to George first arriving there rather early. We not sure how many speeding fines he got along the way but we believe it looked like he was taking part in a movie with all the flashing going on. We will wait to hear from Colin when the fines start rolling in. Dawie and Ohna joined us in George without the Dart. Sad but true, maybe next year. Theo and Mona came to George but could not bring the Dart. Mmmm! My daughter Patricia and her friend Arrie joined us in George to see exactly what the fuss was all about. A big thank you goes to John and Gloria for lending us their gazebo. We would have been toast with out it.
Let’s hope next year we can have at least 20 GSM’s at the show. It was a good show and I believe we will all be back next year with much more Darts and Flamingo’s. I am sure everyone enjoyed their time in George. Everyone arrived home safely. Mias just making it because of problems with the Dart engine.
