Hi there

I received a note from Rose in early November, asking for some details and a pic of the Flamingo that I have in JHB. So here it is, a little late I am afraid, for which I apologise. Things got a bit hectic towards the end of last year and there was a lot that I did not get around to doing.

The car was bought in Bloemfontein by Dave Lyons, who still is the owner. Dave very kindly entrusted the car to me to rebuild and to have and to hold, so I still have it with me. I am sorry to admit that it took me 6 years to complete, as I moved from Durban to JHB in the interim. This put things on hold for a couple of years with other priorities.

The car is complete except that the speedo drive does not seem to be working, I have to sort out the crankcase breather, as it is not currently connected to the air filter. The steering box is a little weird too and I plan to remove it and take it to a steering specialist in JHB soon. The only other thing is that the temperature gauge is not working. I think the problem is in the pipe that comes out of the top radiator hose and which I think has lost its gas. (If that is what is in it). Anyone know where I can get a new one??
