G.S.M.DART 1500
PARTS LIST

Part numbers on this list will be seen to be composed of three sub-divisions, i.e. a prefix, the main body of the number comprising a four or five figure number, and a suffix.

Take an example : D3 9001/3

This number may be analyzed as such

  1. The prefix - D3

    A.  The "D" indicates the vehicle type, i.e. Dart.
    B.  The second digit indicates the model during the currency of which this part was introduced, as follows

D1 - First model with side valve motor
            D2 - 1000 cc O.H.V. motor
            D3 - 1340 cc
            D4 - 1500 cc

So a part which appears on this list with the prefix 02 is applicable from the 1000 cc motor onwards and so on.

  2. The main body of the number - 9001

The first digit indicates the section under which the part falls, as follows

            1 - Wheels, hubs, etc.
            2 - Brakes, etc.
3 - Steering and track controls
            4 - Rear axle etc.
            6 - Engine
            7 - Clutch, gearbox, etc.
            8 - Cooling system
            9 - Fuel system
            10 - Electrical system
            11 - Body parts
            12 - Instruments and tools

  3. The suffix - /3

    1. Where the suffix consists of a number, i.e. /3, this indicates that it is an individual item and may be ordered separately but is part of a complete assembly. If the complete assembly is ordered, e.g. 03 9001, this component will be included. It is important therefore that full attention is paid to the suffixes and the difference between 03 9001 and 03 9001/3 etc., is appreciated.

    2. Where the suffix consists of the letter , "L" or "R", this indicates left or right hand sides of the car, e.g. 03 3301/1 and 03 3001/R.

    3. Where the suffix consists of the letters A or B, this indicates that originally on earlier models one type of part was used, but with change of specification on later models, it was necessary to introduce two types e.g., Dl 2001/A and D4 2001/B.

This example shows that as the clutch cylinder has the prefix Dl, it will fit all models.

The brake cylinder will only be applicable to current models, but that the clutch cylinder is interchangeable with the brake cylinder on earlier models.

A list of alternate suppliers with their names and part numbers is appended so that urgently required replacements may possibly be locally obtained.

Where no outside supplier is listed, the components are either manufactured by or for G.S.M. and are not generally available.

The factory maintains an adequate stock of these items.
