G.S.M. CAR CLUB (Cape Town)

MINUTES OF A GENERAL MEETING
HELD AT THE PREMISES OF THE CAPE MULTI CAR CLUB
on JUNE 23, 2004.
        

PRESENT: As per register

Bob van Niekerk
          
WELCOME:

The chairman welcomed everyone present and then went on to explain why the meeting was convened.

  This club has been in existence for 4 years with Peanuts, Piet van Niekerk and Rose taking care of all business.
  It is now felt that the work load should be spread amongst all members, especially since at least 20 calls per month has to do with GSM club matters.
          
FINANCES: After 6 Flamingo grills were made and paid for, the balance now is R5000,
          
WEBSITE: This has been changed and upgraded and should be operational next week.
             
CONSTITUTION: The call for a proper club constitution came from Clarry Taylor and John Engelbrecht.
  This became more urgent since the Johannesburg club has ceased to exist and has become involved with Kit cars. They have been refused the use of our web site.
  The original constitution will be retained. However, the members decided to adopt a seperate constitution for the Cape Town Club.
OFFICE BEARERS: The following are the positions with the members for the next year:

Treasurer: Rose Fouche Technical Advisors: Clarry Taylor
  Gloria Amm   Piet van Niekerk
Events Organiser: Esta Brown   Peanuts Fouche
           
TECHNICAL: Piet van Niekerk reported the view and ideas of Bob van Niekerk:
  1. Where do you want to be in 10 years time?
  2. The purpose of the club is all about the cars.
  3. The originality of the cars to be evaluated.
          
GENERAL: Colin suggested the club set a standard.
  The Hayden dart to be welcomed as member of the club, but the car will not be registered.
  The chassis jig belongs to Bob van Niekerk. There are 3 people waiting for chassis.
  A list of future classic car events to be compiled for consideration.
