I am in Vancouver, Canada, racing a Flamingo. My car is
missing some trim pieces in both front and rear, as you can
see from the photos. If you can post a ‘want ad’ on your
website for me, I would be very grateful. I know it’s a long
shot, but…….. Thanks, Ralph |

URGENT NEWSFLASH
DATE CHANGE FOR WORCESTER WHEELS FESTIVAL
Due to unforeseen circumstances The
Worcester Wheels Festival Committee was compelled to change the
date of our Festival to the
24th and 25th of October 2008.
Many of you already got our e-mail regarding this Festival and our
dates – please except our apologies and we really hope that this
date change will not inconvenience you at all. We would really
appreciate your support of the new date and hope to see you all in
Worcester on the 24th and 25th October 2008.
We would also like to share one of many responses we got form our
exhibitors.
"Hi Anton
Thanks, we were waiting for this mail and now we've got it!!
This year Club Peugeot won't just rock up there with 2 little
Peugeots, but we plan to bring a squad of Lions (luckily they are
all tamed) to that beautiful and enchanting Breede River Valley with
one of the best backdrops in the Cape. Last year was most
entertaining and well organized, so you can simply not miss-out.
We'll be in touch later again.
Kind Regards
Ian Loubser Chairman Club Peugeot Afrique du Sud"
Motorists Forum July 2006 Car magazine calls all GSM Dart
and Flamingo fans to share memories and recollections of experiences
with either the cars or the personalities involved with GSM! Thank
you CAR! We have had some very interesting letters and calls! This
in just another. Dr Con Joubert of Bloemfontein, having been
involved in the founding of the GSM Club, and owned and rebuilt more
than one Flamingo in his time is looking for: A midnight Blue
Flamingo, grey upholstery, with standard wheels and hubcaps last
seen in the Johannesburg area, around 1995. It also had electric
windows, (WOW) sport seats and an Opel Kadett rack and pinion
steering mechanism, incidentally approved by Bob van Niekerk in
1992. Bob drove the car and liked the modification. The car was
fitted with a 1600cc cross flow motor coupled to a five speed Alfa
gearbox. Con once owned this car, if anybody knows what happened to
it or where it is, please let us know.
