KNOWN HISTORY:

Car No: 2  The Campbell Racing Team - Keith Berrington-Smith

The Campbell Racing Stable  of 209 Commercial Road in Pietermaritzburg ordered two light-weight Darts from Hooper Motors in Durban who were the local Ford agents. In September 1963 Keith Berrington-Smith was flown to the factory in Cape Town to inspect the light-weight Darts and for a short coarse at the factory. This Dart had a 1100cc Anglia 3 main bearing block with no cylinder head, manifold or carburetors. This car was to be driven by Keith Berrington-Smith. The Dart was collected in the Durban docks by Tony Decker and delivered to Campbell Racing Motors in 9th October 1963. The Dart was registered NP 18807 . It was delivered  white but was re-sprayed to canary yellow which was the colour of the Campbell Racing Team. Campbell  Racing sold the Dart to Pieter Potgieter who then sold it to Pierre Rossouw. Pierre Rossouw and  co-driver Dave Upton drove the Dart in the 1966 9hr  at Kyalami. The Dart was written off in Sunset corner. What happened to the wreck is unknown.

This picture and a few more I have enclosed were kindly sent to me by Rob Young the well known racing historian. The one from Kyalami of the Dart leading the Lola is very clear, but we have no idea who is driving. Maybe someone can help.
The next picture is John Rowe leading George Rees into Angles Angle at Roy Hesketh . Hows the narrow tyres working to grip on George's car !!
