HISTORY:   

Willie Jnr bought this Dart from Mr. J. Roll, in Pinelands in June 1995 via Ron of Car & Truck Centre Maitland. It was first registered in 1964. The present registration number CFM57164 replaces CA73263. The car is red, with black trim and a black hardtop with a red edge. The car underwent a major rebuild, started off by expert Sydney Ehrenreich a veteran who was employed at GSM Factory for as long as it was in existence. Sydney removed the old chassis and had the corroded main tubes replaced before replacing the chassis and getting the car back on its wheels again. Clarry Taylor took up the challenge to complete the rebuild of the rolling chassis. This included modifications of the wheel arches and rear light clusters to restore it back to original and a full re-spray (light yellow with black trim) of the car and canopy. After getting the “look” right, he systematically tackled the mechanical/electrical/instrumentation problems which transformed the car from an unreliable rattlebox to an absolute pleasure to drive and look at. The only outstanding issues at the moment are to complete the refurbishment of the side screens and sorting out a small gear selection problem.
