HISTORY:
1964 to 1976 history unknown.
In 1976 Mr Piet Orban bought the yellow car. There was no engine or transmission. According to Piet, the car had been fitted with a V8 engine and transmission. As his son had totalled his Alfa he fitted the engine and transmission to the Flamingo. He sold it in 1980 for R800.00. The car was bought by Stef Steyn in 1995. As the engine was shot, Stef replaced it with a Ford 1600 motor and gear box. In 1998 Piet visited Stef's farm and recognised the car. Piet took off the gear lever knob and showed Stef that the gear lever was made from an old .303 barrel. Restoration took a long time because of the scarcity of parts. Stef then heard about the Cape Town GSM Club, joined the club and with the help of Peanuts, the car is now nearly complete.
