HISTORY:
1964 to 1975 history unknown.
In 1975 Mr Moosa Bagus bought the Flamingo from a young Indian gentleman, who lived in a flat in Gatesville, that had to sell urgently. The body, and probably the chassis, were not in good condition. From 1975 to 1994 he battled to find someone that could repair and respray the fiberglass body properly, to no avail. The engine was a 1500cc Ford, with GSM manifold and a twin choke downdraught carb. The engine number was TS367802E. It was registered as CY 18853.
In 1994 he suspended the registration and
sold it to Mr Victor Peterson who already owned Flamingo # 64802
who then thought that he would restore the car as he had a
sample to work from. This unfortunately never happened, and in
1998 he sold it to Mr Wally Allen. The car was stripped and a
“new chassis” was built at Pollsmoor Prison Workshops, as a
project, using the old rusted chassis as a template. A very good
effort was made, but once again as often happens, this resulted
in the project being shelved, for about three years when Peanuts
Fouché heard about it from Dennis Wolf, and bought the “bits and
pieces” on 16/05/06. This is to be a Fouche Engineering rebuild
project and when fully completed and restored it will be FOR
SALE!
