The history of the car from 1964 until 1977 is unknown.  In November 1977 Con Joubert bought the car from a person in Bertrams, Johannesburg for R90.00.  It was a basket-case.  The following were missing:  nose of the body, wheels, engine, gearbox, headlights, grill, instruments and tail lights.  Con Joubert rebuilt the car and used it daily for many years.  In June 1996 he sold the car to Brian Porter.  Porter passed away in November 1997.  I bought the car from his estate in February 1998.  The car was in running order with a 1600 cross flow engine and Gunston Orange body.  I restored the car, changing the colour to Monza Red.  I used it daily until August 2003 when I restored it for the second time.  This time I replaced the engine with a 1500 pre-cross flow with two side draught Webers and a cam.
