HISTORY:   

In 1973 Hansie Els bought the Flamingo from an Indian Fellow who bought it from a doctor who owned it from new.  The colour was yellow from new.  Hansie paid R650.00 for it and then re-sprayed it light blue with pink flames on the bonnet and sides.  He fitted louver grills with 2 small grills below the bonnet.  In 1995 he then again re-sprayed it red with silver backend.  The registration no was CCE2323.  From 1973 to 2003 Hansie fitted the following engines to the Flamingo:

1. Ford 1600 BDA 16V.

2. Ford 260 CU in V8

3. Ford 1600 cross flow.

4. Ford 3,000 V6.

5. Ford 2,000 OHC.

The car was sold with the Ford 2,000 OHC motor in to Mr Trollip from Bedfordview for R20,000.00.  Mr. Trollip then sold it to Mr. Ross Henry in Plettenberg Bay in 2005 who still owns it.
